Sister Schools and Teacher Exchange

This is a relatively new venture for FtL. After piloting the idea with a local youth club here in Milford, we decided to work in local British primary schools developing a relationship between with school communities in Nepal and India using the fantastic opportunities the modern technology of mobile data, wifi and Skype bring! Each month groups of young FtL ambassadors in schools in each country talk to each other live, share assemblies, or teach each other songs – they have even managed to organise joint funding events! Head teacher, Matthew Hill explains, “An exchange of this kind generates a tolerance of difference, cultural understandings and global perspectives for our staff and students.” We see it as absolutely a two way friendship that greatly benefits UK schools as well as their Asian counterparts. In 2017 we facilitated a successful teacher exchange between Kushadevi Model School and Milford-on-Sea Primary.”
